The Range Rover Evoque made world premiere in 2011, and it really changed the way people looked at Land Rovers ever since. Every new Land Rover model that has been launched since the Evoque has design elements inspired by the Evoque. And the Evoque became the new face of Range Rover. The sleek headlamps with unique LED DRLs, the clamshell hood that joins the air vents at the side all create a unique and instantly recognizable design that has been globally well-received. The standard 5-door Evoque has compact proportions, but still retains its practicality. And the Evoque continues to be one of the most handsome crossovers in its segment even today.
Inside, it again easily takes the award for the nicest cabin in its segment, with neat clean and minimalistic design and ergonomic layout. The rich choices of materials further elevate the Evoque’s appeal to make it a rather nice cabin to be in. And despite the compact dimensions, the rear seat space is adequate and the boot is decently sized too – adding to the practicality.
The Evoque comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel that is available in two states of tune – a lower 148HP, 380Nm guise and a higher 178HP and 430Nm of torque guise. There is also a punchy 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol that generates 237HP and 340Nm of torque. A silky-smooth 9-speed AT is standard on the Evoque, and so is 4WD – making the Evoque off-road capable too. The ride quality is firm, but certainly is not too stiff to the point of feeling uncomfortable.
Available in six variants – Pure, SE, SE Plus, HSE, HSE Dynamic and the range-topping Autobiography, the 5-seater Range Rover Evoque offers a wide choice to choose from. Safety features such as ABS with EBD and braking assist, TCS, ESP, roll stability control, cruise control, dual airbags with side, curtain and driver knee airbag and ISOFIX child seat anchors are all standard across the range.
