Genesis teased the upcoming facelifted G90 full-size luxury sedan complete with a new set of headlights. The redesigned model is due for a 2019 launch.
If it were not for the copper Genesis logo projected onto the hood, we would have had a hard time figuring out the identity of the car beneath. Genesis published the image a few hours ago on the company’s official South Korean Facebook page, depicting the silhouette of the full-size luxury sedan. From the looks of it, the G90 is about to get a drastic makeover.
Despite the company hiding the car in the drapes, we can guess at some of the changes the G90 will receive. The headlights are the most prominent change, with Genesis adopting a long signature DRL strip that extends from the border of the grille to the front fender. The headlamp clusters appear to have a completely new shape inlaid with sophisticated LED technology.
While it is not visible clearly, the front grille of the redesigned G90 has also been changed. The horizontal lines of the current model will be replaced by a bigger grille with a honeycomb pattern. The lower grille is also visibly larger than before, which means the bumper will adopt a different design as well.
That’s all that we can see from the teaser image for the time being. It is safe to say that the rear end will also receive a substantial redesign with the taillamps featuring new LED lighting. The new G90 is expected to get a few new colour choices and alloy wheel designs in the latest update. The interior is also due for a refresh with new gadgetry led by a fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
Genesis will pull the wraps off the new G90 in South Korea later this year, with the car making it to the GCC sometime in 2019.
