The US sales of several automakers proved the shift in market demand from family sedans to pick up trucks and SUVs. The companies which saw a surge in its sales figures accounted their growth majorly to the success of SUVs and pick up trucks in their lineup.
In the same breath, aiming to expand the variants and the offerings in its high-seated vehicles, Ram is now adding a Harvest Edition to its Chassis Cabs truck. The truck which will available in the new editions includes the Ram 3500, 4500, 5500 Chassis Cab models. This also includes the trucks with 4x4s with the 6.4-liter Hemi or 6.7-liter Cummins diesel. This is not the first time that the company has launched the Harvest Edition. Earlier, Ram launched the same edition for the 1500,2500 and 3500 models.
The collaboration between agricultural equipment companies Case IH and New Holland is justified as both the companies thrive under the same parent company CNH Industrial which is in turn related to FCA. The choice of colours as stated by Ram North America Head James Morrison was created as per the demands of the farmers and that the ones who do not share an interest with the colours can opt for the stock black or white paint scheme.
Apart from the differing paint scheme, the company also provides the model with an exterior chrome package for the grille, side steps, door handles and mirrors as well as an optional polished 18 or 19.5-inch aluminium wheels. Inside the cabin, the infotainment system is enabled with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The price tag on the special edition trucks starts at $43,900 for the 3500 Chassis Cab, $48,140 for the 4500 and $49,240 for the 5500. Apart from that, the 3500 Harvest Edition is available either with single and dual rear wheels, while the 4500 and 5500 are dualies, with 60-inch and 80-inch cab to axle lengths. The models are expected to hit the showrooms by the third quarter of 2018.
