It was in Nov last year when Infiniti showcased its all-new QX30 at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show. The vehicle did seem to be well thought out and it was quite clear that Infiniti wants the QX30 to land in the premium category. Now, the company has revealed that it is going to launch the new QX30 in the Middle East market this month.
Speaking about the new QX30, Markus Leithe, Managing Director, Infiniti Middle East, said, “At Infiniti, we always strive to meet and exceed the expectations of the modern premium customer, and the arrival of the first ever QX30 in the Middle East takes this ambition to a whole new level.”
He further added, “The QX30 defines an entirely new segment for INFINITI in the market, holding a unique position that bridges the gap between premium compact rivals and larger crossover models. This is an incredibly exciting new addition to the INFINITI line-up and we look forward to releasing it on the region’s roads.”
Look wise, the new Infiniti QX30 is elegant. It has got its design cues from the original concept. You can tell from a distance that it is an Infiniti. However, there are certain elements that I don’t like. I mean, look at the front grille. It must have been an integral part of the overall design language of the vehicle, but it just seems to be out of place.
The cabin of the QX30 continues to tell you that it’s an Infiniti. It has got an asymmetric design. And if that gets you uneasy after a bit, Infiniti has provided an optional premium Cafe Teak theme package which includes brown Nappa leather seating and dash insert, brown leatherette console and door trim, black contrast stitching and genuine wood centre stack.
Infiniti promises a confidence-inspiring, dynamic driving experience with the new QX30. It boasts of the Intelligent All-wheel drive system and claims it to be among the safest cars in this category. We’ll have to see to that. Anyway, the base model of the Infiniti QX30 can be yours at a cost of AED 150,000 (excluding VAT).
